Journal 1: Caesar

The design of the Globe theater in the time of Shakespeare was very useful and helpful to plays similar to Shakespear's. The shape of the theater was an octagon and it made it possible to place many seats in the theater. Seven of the 8 sides of the octagon were made for audience seating. In the center of the octagon lower class citizens could sit to view the play. Every seat in the Globe Theater had a great view of the stage. Since all of the seates were placed in an octagon shape the stage was very easy to see from any seat in the house. The Globe Theater was constructed with very high walls and this enabled the building to have great acoustics. The seates that were placed along the edges of the theater and against the walls had a greater value to the customers. The seates along the walls had much greater acoustics, therefore they cost a bit more money. The octagon shaped Globe Theater had no roof, so that sun was allowed in to eluminate the stage. The Globe Theater was very well constructed for the time period in which it was used to house plays.
